Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

May 13, 2026

 

 Attendance:  Maureen Pettis, Carolyn LaRosa, Sharon Decker, Diane Jeffers, Jim Bovino, and Mark Heppner,

 Absent: Larry Velte

 The meeting was held at Laurel Ridge Elementary School and called to order at 7:35 p.m.

 Approval of April 8, 2026 Meeting Minutes:  The minutes were approved.

 

Treasurer’s Report - As of 3/31/2026, we had 

                  $13,289.50 in Operating Account,

                 $6,870.34 in CD,

                  $5,004.99 in Money Market, and

                  $27,409.44 in Reserve Study CD.

 

                  Delinquencies were 

                  5 accounts owing over $500 for a total of $3,727.47,

                  10 accounts owing between $100 and $499 for a total of $2,024.42, and

                  18 accounts owing between $50 and $99 for a total of $910.00.                 

 

                  Tree Work - Thus far this year, we have spent $7,925.00 on tree work.    

 

Old Business:

  • Website - We have a website, www.kpwhoa.com.  In addition, Burke Community Management has a website for the HOA.  It can be accessed through https://advantage.cincwebaxis.com or www.burkecmg.com
  • Annual Assessment - The Commonwealth of Virginia has passed a new law that allows for temporary increase to cover the increase in insurance and legal fees.   The Board plans to approve the temporary one-time increase of $25.00, for a total assessment of $75.00 for 2026-2027.
  • Annual Meeting:  We will hold the annual membership meeting on June 17, 7:30 pm at Farrell Hall in St. Mary’s of Sorrows Catholic Church.  Carolyn LaRosa will be the nominating chair.

 

New Business:

  • Delinquent Assessment - We received communication about their delinquent assessment.  We responded that they are legally responsible for assessments.  
  • Tarp in Front of 4786 Farndon Ct. - Maureen will contact the neighbor and ask them to talk to the homeowner.  She might follow up with a letter to the homeowner.

 Next meeting is June 10 at 7:30, at Laurel Ridge Elementary School.  The meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm.
