Board of Directors Meeting Minutes

August 12, 2009

In attendance: Joe Meyer, Larry Velte, Jim Messinger, Mary Hovland, Linda Silver-Bufano, and Linda Fournier

Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m.

Approval of July Meeting Minutes: The July minutes were reviewed and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: The board was informed that the current checking account balance is $13,343.71; there are 2 CD’s in the amount of $5,000.00 each; 4 CD’s in the amount of $5,247.22 each; a reserve CD in the amount of $8,684.13, bringing the grand total to: $53,016.72.

Assessment Response:  About 80% of households have responded to the current assessment requirements.  We applied 9 liens for nonpayment of 2008 assessments.  One house that was in foreclosure is no longer; therefore, we can continue collection efforts to recoup the $227.84 owed on that property.

Old Business:  Fairfax County installed the rain gauge on the properly west of Roberts Road just south of Commonwealth.  In reference to the planned clearing of trees off of Roberts Road, the County transferred the project to another engineer, and they need to do further research, due to a need for an updated easement.

Architectural Reviews:  Ahomeowner has built a wheelchair ramp; so long as it’s up to county code, it will be permissible.  A home along Commonwealth has added a concrete pad to their driveway in the front.  Again if this is in compliance with county regulation, then it is permissible to the Board.

New business:  The Board discussed that architectural rules need to be followed and enforced, and the Board agreed to discuss this in more depth at the next meeting.

A house on Pumphrey Court with trash and recycle bins left in front of the house for long periods of time and a house on Commonwealth with a tow truck parked in the driveway were brought to the attention of the Board.  The Board agreed to write letters to the homeowners to remind them of Fairfax County requirements.

The meeting concluded at 8:30 p.m.
