The May 2005 monthly meeting of the Board of Kings Park West Community Association was held on Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. at Robinson High School.
A quorum was present and Larry Velte called the Board meeting to order at 7:30 P.M.
NEW BUSINESS
The Board unanimously agreed to dispense with the reading of the April 2005 meeting minutes.
Mr. Bryan Dixon, a KPWCA member, was present to discuss the 2006 proposed budget and the information survey.
The preparations for the annual meeting were addressed, including the need for volunteers, set-up, vote counting, PowerPoint presentation (budget and reserve study), etc. Tom Coldwell will print the check-in lists (for three check-in stations) and Armand Fournier will take care of the proxies. The Board will have a special meeting on Sunday May 22 at 1 P.M. at Tom Coldwell’s house to finalize the preparations.
The Board discussed amending the By-Laws at the annual meeting to allow an audit review instead of a audit every year.
KPWCA received tax bills from Fairfax County on our common land for the first six months of 1985 and one bill for the year 1990. The bills did not specify the basis of the tax, and whether it included late fees or interest. Larry Velte will conduct further research before the Board acts on the taxes.
The Board discussed the status of the assessments. The final notice for non-payment was sent by certified mail in March 2005. Draft liens for the unpaid assessments were discussed. Liens will be placed on ten properties during the month of May.
The Board approved a motion to waive the interest late fee on a recent past-due payment.
Armand Fournier made a motion to adjourn the meeting. The motion was seconded by Joe Meyer and approved.
The meeting adjourned at 8:55 P.M.
A special meeting of the KPWCA Board of Directors meeting will be held May 22, 2005 at 1 P.M. at Tom Coldwell’s house in order to prepare for the annual meeting. The KPWCA annual meeting is May 24, 2005 at 7:30 P.M. in the Gold Cafeteria at Robinson High School. The next monthly Board meeting will be held on June 1, 2005 at 7:30 P.M. in the Gold Cafeteria (or Recital Hall) at Robinson High School.
